Professor Biswas has had over 70 articles published in peer reviewed learned journals, in the field of ophthalmology, including paediatric ophthalmology, ophthalmic genetics, congenital cataract surgery, glaucoma and corneal disease. He has presented, authored and co-authored many papers at national and international scientific meetings. In addition to this he has written chapters in textbooks of paediatric optometry and paediatric ophthalmology and articles for optometry journals on aspects of paediatric ophthalmology.
He is a frequently invited platform speaker at many national and international meetings including the Royal College of Ophthalmologists (for 7 years in a row), British Isles Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus Association (BIPOSA), World Society of Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus, European Society of Ophthalmology. He was invited to give the prestigious Duke Elder Lecture at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists Annual Congress in May 2023 at the end of which he was presented with the Duke Elder Medal.
Current research includes Retinopathy of Prematurity, where he is a principle investigator and sub principle investigator for several studies. In addition, he is co-investigator for several studies looking at severe allergic eye disease in children.
